Why did I chose Elearning ?
Online education is revolutionizing inequality in our society by providing an opportunity for people who otherwise would not be able to pursue higher levels of knowledge or quality career training due financial constraints. The accessibility that comes with this groundbreaking innovation has changed lives--from those seeking professional advancement, educational enrichment; even from individuals living abroad trying desperately gain skills needed at home but unable because they don't speak the language!
How did I become OpenEDX developer ?
I am a lifelong learner and found myself in the e-learning industry. I'm drawn to it In 2013, when I was looking at different options of Learning Management System software, I came across OpenEDX which is an open source platform with worldwide scalability features and is Python/Django based (programming language I used for long time). Since then, I have worked as a freelancer to implement LMS solutions based on this platform all around the world. Eventually, in 2017, Appsembler hired me. It has been an incredible journey! Working at Appsembler brought new challenges but also gave me opportunities that was hard to find elsewhere, I also got to work with one of the best companies and universities in the world.
What am I doing these days ?
I’m committed to continue making improvements in the services that I offer. Last year, one of these changes was learning how React and NextJs can solve some major pain points with OpenEDX, after studying these 2 frameworks I was able to develop new platforms that can improve the user experience by bringing modern technologies to OpenEDX.
